The exhibition “Uneversum: Rhythms and Space”, presented at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, explored the relationship between sleep, time, and space, addressing themes such as the contemporary crisis of time, the idealization of functionality, and visions of the future. The exhibition design transformed the museum's vaulted stone hall into a soft, welcoming environment reminiscent of a bedroom, guiding visitors through four thematic sections: representations of time, sleeping spaces, machine sleep, and future scenarios.

The spatial design made use of the existing architecture by dividing the rear gallery into a series of smaller “rooms” using partitions, curtains, and beds, creating a chronological journey from historical sleeping environments to speculative futures. Helga Schmidt's Circadian Dream served as the central installation, introducing the cyclical nature of sleep and time. The exhibition architecture was constructed primarily from recyclable cardboard tubes, which were used for plinths, benches, and text displays, ensuring that most of the exhibition elements could be reused after the exhibition closed.

The exhibition was open to public between 27.10.2023 – 07.04.2024.
