Reidumäe quarter in Lasnamäe
Reidumäe quarter in Lasnamäe

A previously undeveloped, contoured plot in the Linnamäe area of Lasnamäe offers an opportunity to create a special and unique living environment. The 'bowl-shaped' terrain of the triangular area is emphasized by both the method of construction and the design of the outdoor space.

The structure of the quarter's outdoor space is multi-level:

– on the south side, an urban plaza is planned with commercial spaces and a covered bicycle parking area,

– in the eastern part, an active linear yard with play and sports areas,

– in the center, a community garden and a flower garden,

– on the west side, a tranquil apple orchard.

New light traffic roads connect the quarter with the Pirita River, Pirita-Kose, and the Linnamäe center.

The development follows the terrain – the changes in elevation have shaped the building volumes, highlighting the area's natural bowl shape. Townhouses, terrace houses, and stepped apartment buildings are located on the perimeter, while row houses are planned for the center of the quarter to diversify housing types and residents.

Eco-friendliness is central to the design:

diverse, low-maintenance, and partially edible vegetation is used; infiltration fields and rain gardens are planned. Green roofs and terraces increase biodiversity and support the ecological diversity of the area.

Car traffic is directed to the edge of the quarter, with parking solved in underground garages. Safe movement options have been created for pedestrians and cyclists.
