The architecture of the building is inspired by its location and context, situated between the Raua neighbourhood and the adjacent Kadriorg neighbourhood. The architectural character is also defined by its materiality – in simple terms, a combination of stone and wood.
In the western part of the district, along Raua, F. R. Kreutzwald, F. R. Faehlmann Streets and Narva Road, one can find early 20th-century stone residential buildings designed by some of the leading architects of Estonian architecture.
To the east lies the Kadriorg heritage protected area, represented by numerous distinguished wooden houses built from the late 19th century up until the late 1930s.
In addition, the design and conceptual approach to the building were influenced by the adjacent apartment building at Raua 55, designed by Raine Karp and Toivo Kallas in 1969.
When planning the interior layout, our aim was to provide the comfort expected of a modern apartment building in the city centre. The exterior form, on the other hand, was shaped by the historical context. In conclusion, the building reflects and enhances the surrounding environment in a contemporary manner.
