Mööblimaja Quarter

The competition entry “Mööblimaja Quarter – a Pleasant Walk in Contemporary Pelgulinn” envisions a coherent, human-scaled urban environment around the former Mööblimaja site. At the heart of the plan lies a linear park and the pedestrian extension of Mulla Street, linking the quarter with Telliskivi Street and creating a safe, pleasant route through the area.

The new development features a balanced, perimeter-based structure that respects the district’s historical character while introducing residential buildings, commercial spaces, and public green areas. The central orchard and promenade form the core of the quarter, surrounded by courtyards, playgrounds, and small plazas. The Mööblimaja Quarter is designed as an active, vibrant, and community-oriented urban hub where living, working, and leisure harmoniously meet.
