Apartment building in Krull's quarter
Apartment building in Krull's quarter

The architectural concept of the 'Kolmik' (Triplet) project is inspired by the industrial and historical context of the Krull's quarter, combining a contemporary approach to space with site-specificity. The ensemble, consisting of three building volumes, creates a smooth transition between the large buildings on Volta Street and the smaller-scale, heritage-value houses of Kalamaja.

The outdoor space is diverse and connected to the planned public space of the Krull's quarter. It is seamlessly connected to the common room and bicycle parking located at the parking level, supporting the formation of a community spirit. In the landscaping, the existing mature trees have been preserved, and green 'pockets' have been created between the buildings.

The facade solution uses roof tiles with a varied surface texture, alluding to the limestone factory buildings and the tradition of wooden cladding. The result is a visually harmonious transition between the different building layers of the quarter.
