The competition brief asked for the new beach house design supporting round-the-year and flexible use of Stroomi rand, one of the most popular beach in Tallinn.

We used the colonnade-canopy as a tool to loosely divide as well as to unite the area. This primitive archetype can be fitted with functions including changing rooms, shower booth, kiosk, ice cream venders, reading corner, charging station, swings etc.

The proposed beach house is composed of the five courtyards and two two-storey blocks of café and restaurant. The walk along the new promenade running through the afore-mentioned courtyards offers different views, activities and spatial experience.

Landscape architectural concept is to offer sustainable solution to heal and then nourish balanced grow of local vegetation. It also aims to cope with the existing problem of sand erosion and flooding in Spring.
